Specialized 2020 Beyond Gender Allez

Specialized 2020 Beyond Gender Allez range guide. Specialized Announced earlier in the year that they were going to go beyond gender. The first beyond gender bike we saw was the Roubaix. The Beyond Gender philosophy has trickled down into the 2020 Allez range, one of the most popular bikes around; we were keen to take a look at them.

What does Beyond Gender actually mean?

Put simply Specialized are no longer making male and female bikes, or as Specialized say:

“We design for the individual and our philosophy is simple: Don’t make a difference where there isn’t one. When there is, we invest heavily in research and development. We’ll only make male- or female-specific products when there’s data to support the decision and a true performance benefit”

Going all the way and publishing a white paper on the research. Specialized established that when considering bike geometry data from over 8,000 fits, that stereotypes of body shape are inaccurate. That body proportions vary as much within gender as between them! When reviewing touchpoints they measured the sit bones of 95,000 riders. This led them to spec bikes between 143mm and 155mm saddle widths as this caters for 85% of riders.

Specialized are focusing on the mechanics to create a bike platform that is designed for all riders. Bringing the highest technology and widest range of fits, meaning they can make one frame available to men and women. Our Specialized 2020 Beyond Gender Allez range guide will help you choose the right bike with confidence.

Specialized 2020 Allez Sprint Comp Disc comes in stylish Black with a burst golden yellow-vivid pink fade on the fork with size ranges from 49 to 61

An adept all-rounder, built to manage climbs, corners and flat out sprints. The Allez is equipped with Shimano 105 group set. Hydraulic disc brakes, alloy wheels and a short chainstay. Giving you aero performance for well under £2000. These elements combine to make this bike perfectly capable as a Triathlon, Crit racing bike or everyday ride at a very reasonable price.

At the heart of the Allez Sprint is the E5 Premium Aluminium Disc frame. With D’Aluisio Smartweld Sprint Technology, which strategically places more welding material where they’re needed. This results in an aluminium bike that’s more compliant and considerably stiffer. The hydro-formed tube shapes have been aerodynamically optimized to slice through the wind, while also providing tons of built-in compliance. The frame has a unique down tube, bottom bracket shell, and head tube. Plus fork sizes that correspond to frame size.

Like nothing else in its class, the Specialized Allez range is the first to make these technologies accessible to everyone.
