Less than three months after Shimano launched the latest edition of their Dura-Ace groupset, CeramicSpeed can now announce that they are launching an OSPW System that is fully compatible with the new 9200 12 Speed group. CeramicSpeed’s new OSPW System for Shimano’s flagship groupset will officially be unveiled at Rouleur Live in London (November 4th-6th). It will then be available for purchase from November 19th.
OSPW for Shimano 9200 Series

Like with CeramicSpeed’s Oversized Pulley Wheel System for Shimano’s 9100/9150 groupset, the newest version of their OSPW System features the combination of a 13-tooth upper pulley wheel and 19-tooth lower pulley wheel fitted with their top-quality hand-built ceramic bearings. While there are visual similarities on the derailleur cage interfaces, critical adjustments were necessary to deliver a compatible OSPW system specifically for the Shimano 9250 derailleur. Additionally, a separate OSPW system will be required for the concurrently released Shimano Ultegra 8150 derailleur.
Overcoming lack of groupsets
With the current supply challenges facing the cycling industry, the development of CeramicSpeed’s OSPW System for Shimano’s latest 9200 Dura-Ace groupset has required some creative thinking and reliance on close relationships, as Martin S. Banke further explains:
“With the limited amount of Shimano 9200 groups available, just getting our hands on one for inspection was quite challenging. First off, we had one of our technical developers fly to one of our close European partners to do the initial inspections there. And luckily, thanks to our strong network within the industry, we were quickly able to get a groupset to our HQ to complete the development and finalise the lab and road testing. This all shows the great lengths we’re willing to go to in our aim to be at the front of the bunch”.
Oversized Pulley Wheel System
CeramicSpeed launched their first version of the revolutionary Oversized Pulley Wheel System back in 2015. By leveraging larger derailleur pulley wheels the CeramicSpeed OSPW System increases drivetrain efficiency by reducing chain articulation and optimizing the chain path.
Testing has proven the CeramicSpeed OSPW System to be the fastest pulley system in the world, providing energy savings of 30-60% over standard pulley wheel systems. Since its initial introduction, CeramicSpeed has developed numerous versions of their OSPW System for both road and off-road riding.
