Hello, I am Nick, co-founder of Forelock and Load. Having enjoyed a lifelong passion for country sports I know what it feels like to be sold a series of gadgets and gizmos that I never really needed in the first place, and that never worked well either. Consequently, I try to make sure our customers get what they do need and never end up with items that distract from their fun, and their hard-earned money. I find it really satisfying discussing a customer’s needs for a new gun, then transmuting these ideas into the finished article, and taking it out to our range with them. I love stalking and target-shooting and I own a .22LR, .222, .243 and .308. I would love to own a .338 – this is on my bucket list.

Hello, I am Kirstie, and I am generally always to be found close to a horse, a cat, good food and even better friends! I co-founded Forelock and Load with my brother Nick and have assisted with the growth of the business that has brought it to where it is today. The highlights of my job are working with like-minded people, meeting fabulous clients, and deepening my knowledge of horse-welfare and management. I love helping riders to find the right bitting, or bridle solutions, for their horse or pony. I also enjoy the innovative side of the business and focussing on new products that can help the horse, the rider and all outdoors enthusiasts. I have my old Thoroughbred Max and a beautiful event horse, Daisy. My cats are called Ratty, Tigger, Roo and Miss Cackle and dogs, Baz and Chaos. The cats help me keep the dogs, and my wonderful husband, in their place.

Hi, I am Matt, I joined Forelock and Load in 2019. I love working here with like-minded, passionate people who are working together towards to the same goal in an honest, active and effective way. In my free time I enjoy going to the coast, supporting Bath rugby club and going to the cinema.
Sian Hodges
Sales Assistant
Hi, I am Sian and I started as a sales assistant at Forelock and Load in early March, 2022. I really enjoy the fast pace of the role and interacting with customers, as well as the great atmosphere shared by the team. During my spare time I look after and ride my horses, which I am fortunate enough to keep at home. They consist mainly of ex racehorses; I am committed to offering these stunning animals a good later chapter in life! I also enjoy taking my two Labradors out to the forest for hours at a time, and heading to local point to points.

Forelock and Load Shop Dog
My name is Chaos and I am a black Labrador! My owners were hoping I would be a working dog but I am much happier hanging out in the shop running through my repertoire of tricks for treats (ideally, you watch the tricks and then I get the treats). I love going on long walks and running really fast with the wind in my ears! Sometimes I will tip-toe out of the office to the shop floor to say hi to our customers!
