The Bosch Smart System is now available on many electric bike models. Although Bosch have many features yet to come including some additional security features that may include tracking this feature is currently not available. Some features announced by Bosch eBike Systems have taken longer than anticipated to come to market and as such Powunity are ready to fill the gap with their tried and tested BikeTrax product.
We introduced the BikeTrax for Bosch eBike motor systems during the 2019 season and it has proven to be a turning point in the battle against eBike theft. Probably one of the most significant developments in eBike security with close to 100% recovery success of our customers electric bikes and many more theft attempts foiled due to the smartphone notifications and alarm.
Tracking your own ebike via satellite
The GPS tracker is installed inside the motor and transmits a signal via the BikeTrax app to any connected device such as your smartphone or tablet. If motion is detected after the eBike has been locked via the app, you will receive a notification. If your eBike is stolen, you can track its location in real time and share this information with the authorities.
Biketrax has its own backup battery allowing continuous tracking for 14 hours and it charges from the eBike battery when the bike is active. Its capacity will last up to three weeks in stand-by mode and with the optional additional battery, these timescales can be increased.

Different Bosch eBike motors use different connectors and the relevant connectors are supplied with the specific Powunity tracker product.

Can you fit it yourself?
It is possible to fit it yourself however we do advise that a Bosch eBike dealer installs the gps tracker for you and then helps you to setup the system.
