We’re back with another bike check!

This week we’re taking a look at Jay’s Specialized Demo. Jay is another member of the Unit 5 Bike Builder Team, and he loves to send it so a downhill bike was the only way to go! Find out more about the spec and what makes this bike unique below.

Frame: Specialized Demo Race 2021 S4

Suspension: Rockshox Boxxer/Deluxe Ultimate

Brakes: Sram Code RSC Oil slick 220/200mm rotors

Cockpit: Renthal

Drivetrain: Sram XO

Wheels: DT Swiss 471 rims on 240s hubs

Tyres: Maxxis Assegai/ DHR.

Weight: 17.2kg at the moment but goes beefier for proper track days

Jay says:

“Currently riding it as a mullet on a 29” adjustment so the head angle is quite slack (61.5 degrees) and the bb height sits pretty low at 335mm. I always ride the front suspension stiff as 🙄 and run the rear a bit faster to make it a bit more responsive. I added rubber padding on the saddle and shifter to keep the things grippy during wet days and carbon and titanium wherever possible to cut down some weight (and turn some heads!). Spared no expense on the bike and I couldn’t be happier. Life is too short to ride cheap bikes I guess haha.

And flat pedals forever! Do you even drift bro?”

That’s one pretty cool bike – thanks Jay for sharing. Looking for a Downhill bike to slay some gnarly trails? Check out our top picks here.
